Definitive and claritive, given the style, usage and pre-concieved prejuiced nature of the time. It's an excellent example of the style of Schoolcraft,Curtis,JR Perkin's etc... among many. It is not however a 'clinic' example of the historical method, with perhaps the exception of the aforementioned Curtis, that has sustained scholars for many years from the likes of Utley, Ball,Sandoz,Trapp,Weigley and De Maille. But it was never intended to be. So read it and enjoy it for what it is. I did for both.
